Old Masters Part I

Spanning six centuries of European art, the December Old Masters Part I auction will include a rich array of masterworks across a multitude of themes. 

Leading the sale is a pair of unpublished Venetian masterpieces by the world-renowned titan of vedute painting, Giovanni Antonio Canal, Canaletto. Depicting two of his most evocative subjects, this exceptional pair of views, in excellent condition, was painted in circa 1734 when Canaletto was at the height of his powers. The paintings will be on public view in New York from 5-11 and 14-18 October, and Paris 11-15 November, ahead of returning to London, where they will be exhibited 1-6 December.
